in terms of what? the only major difference between an ls1 and ls6 is the heads and cam. the c5r is a 427 race motor.

LS1 is the oldest block and actually the strongest.....

LS6 is the second version that has bay-to-bay breathing windows which cut some strength.....

the C5R is a different block with cast in gray iron liners.......costs a **** load ($6500) and won't hold up like the wet sleeved LS1 block.....(POS in my book).....

That's strange, I hear some people saying they have an LS6 block.
How is that?

15% of 01's and 25% of 02' got ls6 blocks.

i've got an ls6 block, the ls1 block is actually stronger. the block is a moot point though and as i already stated the only real difference is heads and cam.

GM was using up the LS1s and converting over to LS6s.......by the end of 02' the LS1 block was no more and all 03" (Vettes) were LS6 blocks........for which makes more HP, its the heads and cam.....

the block only matters if you are going to sleeve it and then its not really a big deal......just would RATHER have an LS1 block to sleeve than an LS6 (if the two were sitting side by side and I could take either....)...
