Default choosing a cam and still go through emissions

I live in CT and want a cam but am worried about emissions. I was told no higher than a 224/224 cam. I would like to have a lopey idle but what is the most drastic cam i could do. I am most likely going to be running the stock heads for quite a while and the other mods i have done are below. Any suggestions?

What kind of emission testing they do there?
They just OBD-II test or do they dyno & tailpipe test the cars?
Have you asked shops in your area what they suggest like east side performance?

they do the obd2 test and I dont thinknk they do the tailpipe test. I haven't talked to anyone at east side yet. I figured I'd see if someone on here had done what i am trying to do with emissions and all.

if you go with a larger cam, make sure you have a good tune and you should be all set
