Default Seriously thinking about a 427 Buildup

Hello everyone,
I am just posting here because I am seriously thinking about starting to save up money for a 427 buildup on my LS1. I want it streetable and dependable. I am just wondering what would a complete list of parts I would need to do this build and what is an estimate of how much this would all cost?

I don't want to go FI I want all motor and hopefully about 550 to 600rwhp without an overly large cam.

Thanks,
Chris

Dude, that's a great project. I've been thinking about starting to save up too. My builder is working on my 5.3 heads for my 5.7 LS1 right now and keeps asking, "What we going to do next to make some serious power?"

A 427 would be SCHWEET

I got some PMs about re-sleeving to 4.125, I'll forward them on to you

I've heard on this forum that you will need either an iron block or a C5R aluminum block to build a reliable 427, at least until wet-sleave technology is perfected.

I know a place where DRY SLEEVE technology is perfected since 2000... LS2 4.125 blocks are available!

Default Mti

Go with the LS2 as the block is better and affordable. MTI built me one for a great price and it runs great. 555 rwhp and 535 rwt.
