Default not my day

well last week i snapped a header bolt off in one of my heads. after trying to drill the busted stud multiple times on the car i took the head off. i started to drill out the stud and the drill bit broke off inside the stud . this is one suck hole of a day. and i scatched the **** out of my nice head with the drill bite.so im gonna give TEA a call and see if they can do anything with it. if not there goes a few grand down the ******* all because of a lowsy header bolt

Did you cross thread the bolt or just over torque? Im just curious, not that its an issue now but are the torque specs? Long tubes are in my future and I dont want to be in the same spot.

If the head is off, find a local "EDM" shop..they will get that stuff right out.

Damn pdd... I've been following your efforts through most of this and I feel for you man..
You got me a little nervous to do my own swap!
I hope it turns around for you soon... what ever came of the other problem with the engine turning and not the wheels? Was it the clutch?

I feel your pain man. I'm on my 3rd motor and 4th clutch.

It's ALMOST getting past fun anymore.

What Dave said is the truth. TEA will take care of you, but all you have to do in this case is take the head in to a place that has an EDM machine. Ive broken more than my share of bolts off in heads, adn then broken drill bits and bolt extractors off in them too.

EMD usually costs an hour per bolt, so $75 is the damage (plus removing the head, getting another gasket and TTY headbolts, etc).

But yeah...makes for a really shitty day.
