Question Knocking noise coming from motor?

This is not my 410

A friend of mine has a LS1 with 130k miles. Had heads/cam and some other bolt ons but had them removed. The car has had about 2k miles since its been stock. The other day driving the car, a wot run in 1st an 2nd gear. After that a loud knocking noise started? It idles fine and still seems to have some power. Knocking noise starts at 1,800 rpms. Oil psi is low... could it be from that or a rod? Any other ideas?

Sounds like he damaged some bearings.

Would the car still run almost normal if it was bearing damage? Well normal beside the loud knocking noise?

If oil pressure is low, it would be a good idea to have it checked out before doing some tough driving. It's been repeated that if oil pressure is low turn car off before you damage the engine and have it checked out.

definitly sounds like a bearing to me. I just got done chasing the tick monster and found him in a rod bolt backing out. but with low oil pressure it makes me lean towards a bearing.
