Default weight of ARP non-Pro series rod bolts vs. Stock.....

Anyone know? I know the pro-series bolts are bigger and heavier, and could possibly throw your rod out of round, but what about the "regular" ARP LS1 cracked rod bolts? PN 6006 for reference.

If these weigh about the same, and the threads are about he same, then the rods should never go out of round right? Trying to avoid the possible out of round condition with pro-series bolts but don't want to spend $140 on Katech bolts!

I installed the ARP pro series
I weigh all 16 at once and compared them to the ARP's and they weight the same as the stock believe it or not.
They fit the rod much better also.
When install the end of the threads are flush with the end of the cap.
They are a little longer about 2 threads, put the head is a lot smaller.

I would do it again!

your rods need to be resized anytime you replace the bolts, IMO.

There have been people that just put them in and go. And how exactly would you resize a stock LS1 "cracked" rod anyway?

Jeff @ CAM in durham built my motor , put the Pro series rod bolts on and didnt have to re-size them at all . These aren't your typical SBC rod bolt that is pressed into the rod . Its just a bolt . You put it in like a bolt .
