New Motor, How do I get oil pressure before start up?
Brand new LS6 motor in my C5. CNC heads, 11.5 compression, and a TSP 233/239 cam. I totally oiled every part in the motor when I put it together but I would like to get some oil pressure before that first start up. I have a remote filter and an oil cooler so there is a long way for the oil to travel before it develops pressure.
I could unplug the injectors, and unplug the harness to the coils and crank the motor over without any spark plugs. It would spin fast and in 10-15 seconds I would have oil pressure. Of course it will set codes with everything unplugged. I will clear the computer, plug everything in and then fire up.
Is this safe, or will it harm any electric components to be unplugged while cranking the motor?? Anybody have any other ideas for a new motor??
Thanks, I will make a sound clip of the start!!!

Thanks guys.. this site has been the greatest tool of all for building a motor.
I appreciate your input. I will post some sound clips and motor pictures as soon as I get it to run. I'm off to the garage, a few more bolts and we will be ready to make some noise.
