Default Titanium Retainers?

When is it necessary for titanium retainers when picking out a cam? Im thinking about either a TSP 228R, TSP 225 or a TR224.

thanks

It is never necessary, However it is always recomended.
When ever you can loose valve train weight you get increased RPM achieved before getting into valve float.
What springs are you using?

I didn't think there was that big of a difference until I held the stock retainers in one hand and then the Titanium retainers in the other. Theres a world of a difference in weight.

So say if I am getting an F11 cam and I don't really concern myself with the weight difference. I don't really need it then, right? Especially when I never even redline my car to begin with.

This has been a question I've wondered, myself.
