I ran the TR 230/224 for quite some time in a previous F-Body. It had the same street manners as the TR 224/224, but it made lots more power up high. Same driveability, more power, it's the reason the reverse split cams came on to the scene in the first place.

236/230 here. street manners really arent too bad. the car put down 390 rwh 375tq, when it was cam only. since then ive added heads, a pulley and a water pump, and will be going to the dyno tomorrow to have #s from that. it makes great power up top, and fairly decent mid-range. up above 4500 you can really feel the car pull. i went 12.5 last fall(cam only) with a 1.9 60ft. the stock gears are killing me right now, hence the reason it states on their website to use this cam with 4:11's or higher. ill have the 12-bolt in in a few weeks, so it should be a mid 11 second car after that.

I just saw a guy dyno with a TR236/230 today, and he put down about 394 rwhp. He had heads and headers with it also. He said he gets a lot of surging and bucking at around 1500 rpm, but he likes the cam. My cam acts the same way, but I made 35 more hp than he did.

got my car dynoed after the head swap today. the tr236 put down 390/375 thru true duals(cam only). there is now a magnaflow catback on there, and the car put down 425/410, so im very happy with the #s. now i just need the track to open up, and i can have some times to go along with those numbers

236 here, M6 car has all bolt ons with stock 98 heads put down 410 to the rollers. I have 4.10 gears and you really need to keep this cam over 2000 rpms to not get the bucking other than that it is a very drivable deal.

Oh yeah, it lopes like mad, with the cut out open people come up all the time wanting to know what i have.

Something is wrong with that guys combination. We just did a '98 model Firebird with a very crappy y-pipe and a completely stock TB, LS6 Intake, and NO dyno tricks that just did 410 RWHP with the original '98 heads. Unless the guy has an automatic with a loose converter those numbers are low for that combination.

Hey Geoff. My car is untuned. I'll have some new numbers in the fall when I get the tuning sorted out! I have no doubt that 420 is obtainable with a tune! So technicly there is something wrong with my setup! It's only half done! LOL!!

You can spray that cam, but i wouldn't spray more than 100 wet. i have a 224/220 116 and that one takes 200 dry (160 wet). The fact that yours is on a 112 is another limiting factor (too much overlap).
So BIG shot, no, 100 Yes.

Yep, when I made that post I didn't remember that he was untuned. My mistake!
