Default What can that noise be?

I have a 99 Camaro Z28. Every time i step on it, you can feel a popping noise coming from under the rear seat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

tranny mount

4 15mm bolts to get the crossmember loose, then 1 18mm deep socket to remove the big nut on the mount itself. then 2 more 14 or 15mm bolts to remove the mount from the trans. takes 3 minutes to get it off. make sure you TAKE IT OFF to check it. it can look totally fine while its still installed. make SURE to support the trans w/ a jack or you will be eating it

poly units can be found at autozone for cheap (energy suspension), but most report some increased noise and rattle with them. the OEM trans mount works great for reducing vibrations etc. , but they are +70$

No just reassures me that it's the tranny mount that's busted. But having a tranny mount broken will hurt performance, not to mention be a major annoyance

My wife's '00 TA which is an auto had a busted mount and it buzzed/banged the floorboard under throttle.

Just to entertain all ideas, mine was doing the same thing and it happened to be the y-pipe banging against the car. I ended up welding a valve spring between the Y-pipe and the body and now it fits snug against it with no rattling. Just make sure you know which one it is before you go replacing/fixing something that isn't broken.
