First off, I don't want to hear from anybody who walks to discuss whether the head bore should match the cylinder bore. I'm beyond that.

I believe convention says GM MLS gaskets from the truck engine (LQ4, LQ9) should be used in this application. The gaskets need to be matched to the bore of the head, is that right? So, my choices are pretty limited. I do want to go with a GM gasket because I'm using GM bolts.

Can I use an LS2 head gasket? Does anyone have dimension (thickness) information for the LS1 head gasket? Will it mate properly to an LS2 block? ...to the 317 heads?

I've searched and haven't found anyone discussing this. Please chime in if you have any information.

What is the LS2 gasket made out of and how thick is it? anyone?

Match the gasket to the larger of the two. You should be safe using the 6.0l MLS gaskets. Not sure about the LS2 gaskets.

I also share in this question... I just got a 6.0L block and LQ9 heads but am also unsure of which gaskets to get (however in my case, the block is bored .060 over, if that makes any difference).

Also, what are the 6.0L MLS gaskets?

LS2 and 6.0L MLS are prob the same gasket.

no. the gasket will obstruct the combustion chamber around the edges.
