Default stress relieve new block?

Just received my new block...Wat block prep is recommended before assembly? I have heard that stress relieving is necessary, but the seller mentioned that all it would need is a final cleaning before assembly. I am fairly certain that it hasn't previously been stress relieved as well.

Thanks...

Default Stress relief

The aluminum LSX blocks distort quite a bit in service if not stress relieved.

Heads, if they are also new should be done. You need to find someone with a metalax or Formula 62 machine in your area. It takes a little over an hour to shake most of the stress out of a block. It is a good idea to do the stress relief before any finish machining by the way, like honing or decking.

There are several places here in Southern Ca. that can do the job. I sell the Formula 62 machines for this purpose. Howard Wolf outside of Atlanta has one of my machines. I have no clue where you reside. Howard's number: 770-427-0640
