Figuring out CR on my 5.3L without head CC?
Ok, I am all mixed up trying to figure out my compression ratio...
I have a 5.3L block and HO 5.3L pistons....
The CR should be 9.95:1
I need to see if I can calculate the CR with my GTP heads on without knowing what the CCs of the heads is.
I do know that on a stock compression LS1 motor these heads would bring me to 11.4:1 CR. The heads have been milled (not sure how much) and the chambers welded up to simulate 5.3L heads..
So my question is this:
#1 What would my CR be with these GTP S2+ heads on it?
Misc. info that might help.
Stock LS1 CR is 10.1:1.. Stock LS1 heads are 66.67cc.
Stock 5.3L heads are 61.15cc

I am making a couple assumptions. With a .052 thickness with 4" bore gasket on a 5.7 liter block I get 58.2cc head chamber to get exactly 11.4-1. I assume the HO has flat top pistons and with a .052 thick and 3.9 bore gasket I get 10.95-1 static compression. May be a little more as the gasket bore could be 3.860 instead of 3.900". That would change to 10.97-1 static. This is my ballpark answer if it helps you.

That is almost exactly what one of the truck guys came up with so that makes me feel good.
Thanks for the help. Looks like I was on the right track but I kept getting mixed up. I hate math! LOL
