Default Z28 Governor?

I have googled and i cant seem to find info on what speed the governor kicks in at on a 99 z28 M6. Can it be taken off, should it be taken off?

It depends on the speed rating of the tires that came on the car. You can blow out the speed limiter with LS1edit or HPtuners. You want to make sure you have speed rated tires with 40 psi in them before you make any high-speed runs, though. Also, a tire that's had a flat repair no longer has a speed rating.

245's+ OEM = 150+

i bought my car used but found out the day i got it , that it had the limiter . checked the RPO sticker and it indeed came with 235's OEM .

For Z-rated tires, using HPTuners to look at the OEM programming, it is 162 MPH.

My stock program said 160. I've heard the 162 number though as well.
