Default oil pressure

I have a 99, my oil pressure is usually around 50 according to the gauge.
Is this normal, I know most people recomend swapping the oil pump on the pre 01? cars dues to a weak pump, but mine seems like its doing the job good.

Whats the psi for a good pump? does the psi give indication of the pump condition or can an oil pump work good then suddenly "break" and loose pressure?

My TA is at 40 psi @ Idle. Your PSI is pretty much normal. I wouldnt worry about it.

Mine runs about 50-60 idle and 70 at WOT. I do have a ported LS6 pump.

I find it curious that there is such a wide range of oil pressures amongst the site users, anywhere from 20 to 60 lbs at idle. Wow, that shouldn't be.

with my ported ls6 pump, and stock block, I see about 60 psi at idle, and 70+ at WOT. Somewhere just under 80 (maybe 78) is the highest I've seen

My stock 02 T/A oil preasure at idle is 45PSI after warm-up. It starts as high as 60PSI when cold.

My car idles at 45 when warm, runs about 60 cruising and 70 WOT. That's with the stock pump and German Syntec 0W30.

so whats the problem with the 98-99(?) pumps?
what happens to make them lose pressure, is there a way to monitor/predict such an event?
