I dont know how well those heads flow, but I would assume that a larger cam could make better use of them than the F11.

"only net a few more h.p." can be significant if you have some kind of a goal you're after. Why not go even bigger to make sure it will make a difference?

I agree, I am after high 10's on engine alone, then the TNT 200 shot will be applied. We've got some bugs worked out with the current setup, I ran the 11.49 with the rev limiter set @ 6200, the cam pulles to 6600, also I did not have a shift lift, I'd shift by the sound of the engine.

I would do the FAST/NW setup first. If your gonna swap, I'd look at the X4 out of your options for your goals, just IMO of course. I don't know the specs of the X4 or if it's a good N20 cam or not. Your probably gonna want to spin your motor to 7K or so as well. from the looks of it, the FM11 is holding it's own though..

I know what you mean Steve, I've been through the too big not enjoyable to drive. I do plan to go up to the 90/90, first I want to take out the highest dyno guy with the FM11, with my LS6 intake before I swap. I'm a few h.p. down and my car has not been tuned on the dyno yet. My car also runs as well as it dynos. I have been leaning towards swapping the 11 out for a G5X-3.

Now, those are two different things. I assume the "bigger won't be better" comment refers to making more peak power on the dyno not being better on the track. The only way a larger cam isn't better at the track is if your car, as as sytem, cannot support it. If everything else matches up to the larger cam well enough, bigger is usually faster.

No, I had a car before that below 3500 wasn't enjoyable to drive, the setup was so radical. It was a donkey on the dyno producing 550 r.w.h.p. solid roller setup, w/ 300 shot on it. It was a LT4 combo to the max. Everything supported itself, but was not enjoyable to drive around constantly. Everytime I get into my current car it's a blast to drive. I've had too many cars and different setups. By the way the combo above was in a 2700 pound car, not an f-body..... I get bored too quickly!!

What was boring about it?

If it had an auto with a 3500 or larger stall it wouldn't matter what it made down low.

It was a 6 speed setup, drive a race car everyday, then come back and talk to me. I'm not being a dick, but I can promise you it bites ***. Live and learn, I thought it was cool for the first few weeks.

I'm sure a daily racecar would get old....what exactly about it was bad to drive? You made it sound like it was the fact that it had no ***** below 3500 rpm. Was that the biggest problem?

The cam was so large it cut in and out below 3500 rpms. unless you were hammering it from down low. Like a constant chop below that rpm.

lets see what you do tomorrow after you get a real tune in the car. we still have some suspension bugs to work out. 1.6 is a shitty 60ft for your set up. the car has more in it. once we get it all dialed in, if you're still not happy, we'll but jimmy's cam in it. that big enough for ya?
