Default What cam to get? With my set-up?

This is my problem. I have the Y1 cam from MTI and we just can`t get it dialed in with my set-up. I have a A4 with everything. Here she is

2001 WS6, Black A4, MTI S2 heads/ MTI(234/240 .598 .608-113LSA) Y1 cam, stock bottom 346, TPIS 90mm TB, GMAF 85mm , LSX90mm, LID,T-Rex-fuel pump,Walbro 255 in-tank, 42 lb injectors, LS1 Edit, Kooks 1 7/8 headers, with electric cut-out, Corsa,150 TNT F2 wet shot,12-bolt, 3.73, Vig 3800,Some BMR Suspension,Eibach lower springs, QA-1`s at all 4 corners,Century Tranny, Reloc Brackets,Poly trans mount, and all bolt-on`s!

With everything I have what cam should I go with. I did have MTI`s X1 and loved it on 112 lobe, just wanted something bigger. Tell me what do you think I should do. I love the sound and I want good power. But I have to be able to get some driveability out of her. My wife likes driving it. The Y1 just would surge at stoplights and low rpm`s., don`t want the wife to have a crash! My shift is around 6500rpm`s. Let me know what you think! Thanks!!

The Y1 should idle just fine with a good tune. What exactly do you mean when you say that you can't get it dialed in?

At 1000-1500 rpm`s she wants to drive herself. Don`t need to give any gas at all. Also when you let off coming to a stop- the idle is high. When you stop it takes alittle for it do drop to 1000 rpms. Sounds funny and you have to push hard on the brakes. They can`t seem to get that fixed!!

Might want to consider going to a different tuner? My buddy has a T-rex tuned by a local guy that doesn't work for a shop, and it idles perfectly at 1000rpms. He will be tunning my G5x2 that has similar specs to your cam, but on a 112.

Sounds like a tuner problem, not a cam problem.

This is Jayson at MTI! I`ve even went to G-force with mike. Do you think it might be my 90mm set-up hurting me?

I dont know what to tell you. I don't have those problems with my magic stick (237/242 on a 113) It's all in the tuner, but you took it to MTI, so.......

How big do you drill the TB for this size cam. We did it with a small bit. I`m wondering if I need to go alittle bigger with it. It really made a differance when we drilled it the first time. What do you think fellas! We should be able to tune this cam????

You should be able to get it tuned. What you're describing sounds like too much air at idle, so drilling the tb blade would make it worse. Before I gut my car tuned a had to turn the set screw on the TB upside down and back it way out to get it driveable. The car would do the same thing, rpms would hang ~1500 rpms when coming to a stop before finding it's idle. Just my .02

You shouldn't need to drill the TB. Most tuners would probably recommend that you don't, actually.
