Default what has to be changed for a solid roller cam

im running a f14 camshaft from futral right now.. stock bottom end, stock heads, car flies and i dont even have it tuned yet, but im looking a lil further down the road

i will send hte heads to futral, the stock bottom end will get n2o 2cc relief pistons or whtaever this winter, along with forged rods... im sure alan can help me with all of this, but im trying to get an idea of what all i will need to spend so i dont a. look like a dumbass when i dont understand what hes saying. or b. be way over my head monetary wise..

im not worried about streetability.. i want to go fast stock cubed.. i will drive it on the the street.. i dont much care how it runs or what gas milage it gets.. im just trying to learn

i understand i need different rockers and pushrods i believe, but what else to make it work.

thanks

jp

it depends on what your idea of hurt is,lol. if you do it, do it right and get the jessel or t&d rockers. they are the ****. the only down fall to solid roller is you will have to adjust your valve lash about once a month just to keep everything in check, or so ive heard. it is the way to go to make the most power though. good luck

Yes, you do have to adjust the valve lash periodically. It is the way to go to make the most power.
I dont know much about it actually. I'll be interested to read whatever is posted in this thread, or whatever somebody links to this thread to show us it's already been answered.

Jesel Y2K Rockers - 1300.00
Jesel Dogbone Lifters - 2200.00
Manton Pushrods - 240.00

So how much lighter are solid roller lifters than hydrallic roller lifters in general?

I have read that their can be wear issues in the lifter bores with solid cams? Also their can be concerns with the higher lift and oiling problems to the top end? I am building a 402 and had my heart set on a solid roller but have changed my mind and decided I can probably get to my power goals with a hydraulic.

you will also need valve cover spacers or sheetmetal covers. $250-$500 for that and some head work to clear the pushrods.

And with that longer wires or coil relocation kit, and the list goes on.
