I heard this noise in person on Sunday, it's not as hollow sounding as bottom-end rod knock I've heard before (spun main bearing). ...although I've never heard anything make this specific noise before...
We're pretty sure it's not the crank pulley/bolt as we verified it was pretty tight...
Things I just though of - how's your oil pressure ? Any fluctuation in oil pressure when the noise happens ? Any metal on your oil drain plug ?
I'd definately look at/verify the top end first Ed...

Yep, I don't think it was the crank bolt. But I will double check it again.
Oil Pressure is fine. Its actually a bit higher since the install.
I will be pulling the valve covers off tonight.
I am wondering if it could be lifters....
