The only company I can think of that might would be Jesel. Maybe T&D.

I think it's gonna be a custom Rocker arm. I'm sure someone like Bauer, Curtis or Straub will know and chime in though

Jesel and T&D both do. Jesel even makes one for the C5R head.

I actually wouldn't mind this, it would play less hell with the PR's if the lifters don't run out of oiling because of the lift. I guess the new Crane lifters can take .400+ at the lobe and they are still safe so that's .640" lift on a 1.6:1 Rocker.

You should have put Kurt in there as well Floyd.... Smart MF'er in my book.

BTW Kurt those new Daytona Prototype LS rules really suck. No Porting the LS6 castings and now 5.0L, the LS is a monster compared to the other motors in there, but looks like the Lexus is finally competiting with it.... I like how the Porsche motor says 3.9L and any modifications in comparison.

For us average dummies, what advantage is there to be gained?

Since the rocker moves less, the higher the motor can be spun.

A higher ratio rocker will give you more lift obviously, and faster valve action. It also means for the same max lift at the valve you will have a larger base circle so the cam will be stiffer.

On the other hand the drawbacks come from the fact that the rocker will mulitply the loads from the valve spring back thru the pushrod. The higher loads will deflect the pushrod, rocker stud more and put more pressure on the lifters which will destroy stock Hyd Roller lifters faster or wear out needle bearings on solid rollers faster with the higher valve spring pressures.

There are advantages and drawbacks to both. I can go into that if ya want but I'm hungry, so if ya want ask I'll see what I can do.

Hell with them, LTOne4Fun@aol.com

Same reason why Fords with steel valves and 8000 rpm on stock lifters dont run 1.8 rockers

Most of that makes sense. If you want to add more, I am aways up for learning something new.

I'll add him to the list now Bret

Hey you think we can talk about varying rocker ratio's? Like 1.7 intake and 1.6 exhaust??

Just like throwin' ideas out

I'm probably going to write a whole thing on valvetrain and cams. Might turn into a story for a magazine since I have some buddies who are editors but I will still post the part that is relavant to this here.
