Default Will i need to upgrade fuel injectors or fuel pump or will i be fine?

I'm in the process of pulling my old cam out(232/228 .573/.571 113 lsa)and putting in the new cam(238/242 .605/.610 113 lsa) and im wodering if my stock 99 fuel setup will be enough? I think it will but if someone had this problem i could take care of it while the car was down.

Nah! Texas speed told me to take all the advance out of the cam and it will clear easy so as of right now were going to check clearance this weekend when it all goes back together and see but i have been assured that it will clear with stock head gaskets and 0 degree of advance ground in the cam.

Racetronix PnP 255 with harness and FPR at the rail. That sucker is going to require good fuel on top rpm.

I dont think you NEED to upgrade your fuel delivery just yet. But Your on your way. Surprisingly the stock fuel system can hold up to some good numbers. Even so, I would increase my fuel PSI or the duty cycle on my injectors before replacing fuel pump. Just my .2c

99 injectors are only good to +/- 400rw or so. they flow 26.4 @ 4 bar, and as we well know, pressure at the rail is not constant. I would upgrade to SVO 30's or at least 28.8 for budget reasons.

And for reference, do SVO 30's flow @ 36lbs in our systems?

No, that is a common myth. They flow 34.54 @ 4 BAR (58psi)

Good thing you have 4.10s. 113 LSA and no advance is going to make the power pretty high in the rpm band with that duration.

i run a MTI T1 (221/221) and my injectors are maxed, stock 99 injectors BTW. If you can upgrade do so. When we were doing some computer work in the car the last time the injectors were at an eceptable duty cycle was 4k rpm. I think at around 6500 im seeing 105% and thats no physicly possible. So I need to upgrade.

Yeah the 4.10s will help alot but i may have to go back to my ET Drags for extra height this fall because the DR's are not growing enough for me to cross the traps.

I ordered a set of SVO 30lb. injectors so i won't have to worry.

Stang killer,if your maxing the injectors out then i must have been also for the past 4 years because i always thought the 99s were good for around 400-415rwhp.

i would go ahead and upgrade. if you run into Stang killer's situation, its gonna cost u hp. just don't go too big or the PCM will have a harder time trying to idle the car.

a fuel pressure gauge hooked to the schrader valve and run through the hood so you can see it will tell you if the fuel pump can keep up.
