Default pcv

this is a stupid ? i know, but i havent done it before, i am changing my pcv valve on my 98 T/A it has 60k on it and the valve has never been changed. how do i change it, do i just pull the hose off, replace the valve and put the hose back on??. also, is it neccessary to even do the replacement? i see people talking about modifying their pcv system on their ls1's with catch cans and vacuum lines and such, what is that all about, i havent heard much about it, like i said, stupid ?'s but i havent dealt with it before. thanks.

people put on catch cans because the PCV system is sucking up oil into the intake manifold, causing abnormal combustion

Go to Thunder Racing's site and get their LS6 PCV conversion kit. Your problems will be gone.

I had an LS6 PCV with valley cover with a catch can and it still did not stop oil mist from getting all over my intake runners. I finally went with valve cover breathers, now my intake is finally clean.

If you have to ask this question you need to do some more reading on the subject or have a friend that knows what they are doing help you. PCV isn't rocket science by any strech of the imagination, but if you need help with something as simple at this call on a mechanic friend for assistance. At least you ask for help before screwing something up.

GEEZ ! makes you not want to ask a question around here. I'd like to have seen more input on this topic. Some folks dont have the time do read through all the searches. You can put pcv in a search and watch all the millions of threads come up.
