Default downside to f13 or f14 cam

to you guys that are running these cams; do you have an opinion as to a downside you have experienced since using these cams(no low end torque etc). the reason i ask is because i have only heard praise for these cams so somebody somwhere has to have a gripe and i need to buy a cam soon and like to hear both sides before i makeup my mind.

there's alot of downsides:

1. decreased gas mileage due to the new found power
2. less time spent with wife/gf because your car is so fun to drive
3. increased face wrinkles cause by the big you cant get off your face

To be honest I don't have one gripe about my cam after the car was tuned.

"no low end torque" will not be an issue with the F13..... check out my dyno-graph (in sig).

You will need a good tune... otherwise you will love it!!!

It feels like I have lost little to no low end torque with the F14. Both cams will definately need tuning, although driving on the stock tuning it runs suprisingly well. A good set of gears will take care of lost low end grunt.

I just got my car back and struggling to get the car tuned. But it's not a cam issue.

My F13 is maybe too smooth an idle (had a 231/237 TSP cam before)... that's the only thing I can think of.

the futral cams cost a little bit more than others but other than that no complaints here (F14). Even driving w/o tune the car almost drives as good as stock (no AC though)

Yeah, the only complaints I ever see about FMS cams is when people realize they idle smoother than other vendors' cams that have 5-10 degrees less duration and wish they would have gotten one of his bigger cams

The downside to the larger size cams is the higher operating rpm. Spinning the motor close to 7,000 rpm. You'd do well to upgrade the rod bolts. That would be the main downside.
