Default what valve springs?

whats a good valve spring for a g5x2 cam? are those patriot springs any good?

any of the associated Golds will work fine; PP, TSP, TEA, ect.

I am using the patriot springs and have a G5X2 cam. No problems after about 1k miles.

Agreed. Those duals or comp 918's. Comp 921's would be better, but they are a little expensive.

i thought 918s werent supposed to be that strong. i have those with my old setup.

my engine guy is making a big deal about measuring the size of them and what not. will any ls1 spring work wth any ls1 head?

For one, 918's are currently rated to .600 lift, though the G5X3 probably goes a little over that it's not gonig to be by much. They are a very good spring with excellent dynamics due to the beehive design. Not only that, but they used to be rated at ~.625, before the 921's came on.

hit up terry@racetechspeed (thats his LS1tech handle) and talk to him about some PRC duals, or do some research. i have their whole package with the Ti retainers and hardened seats, VERY nice pieces and VERY nice price

P.S. - TSP sells them also

beware of 918's.... I had a set of blue stripes with my F1 cam and bent a bunch of valves due to float..... now running the PP Golds with no problem...

go with prc! i just use them in my cam swap and for the price, u can't go wrong!!!!

True, but TEA uses the same spring as PRC, manufactured by associated, but for a few bucks cheaper still.

And for how long did you have them in there??
Was you preload on lifters right??
What rockers were you using??
Did you ever over-rev on a downshift with those on? ever?

That is a pretty bold statement with no other info. Give the full picture please.
