Question 393 Owners Come In

I AM ABOUT TO START A 393 BUILD UP AND JUST HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS. FIRST THIGNS FIRST I WAS GOIN TO BUILD A 374 BUT CHANGED MY MIND AND DECIDED TO GO BIGGER. I WILL BE ABOUT 10.6 TO 1 COMPRESSION WITH MY HEADS (67.8CC) W/ 918 SPRINGS MILD PORT JOB AND POLISHED THE EXHAUST AND HAVE SHAVED .010 OFF OF THEM, THEY WILL HAVE .041 HEADS GASKETS UNDER THEM. I AM USING THE EAGLE COMP. ASSYEMBLY WITH 4340 H-BEAMS, 4340 CRANK, AND JE PISTONS. I AM GOING TO RUN THE GM CARB INTAKE WITH A 750 ULTRA HP HOLLEY AND ELECTRIC W/P. I JUST WANTED SOME ADVICE ON CAMS AND WHAT KIND OF POWER I MIGHT GET OUT OF THIS COMBO. HOPEFULLY THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH SOMETHING CLOSE TO THIS SET UP AND CAN HELP ME OUT.
THANKS
JON

call the shop thats gona put this motor together. A G5X2 is an aggressive cam for a 346. It sounds like your going more towards a race car set up with the car intake and all so you should go a lot bigger with that.

A 393 is a stock 5.7L crank with a 4.160 bore. MTI has done one before, and it would require that you resleve your block.

show me a link to the eagle 4.100 crank you say your using. im with stangkiller, all 393ci's i've seen have been resleeved blocks with a 4.100 bore and stock crank. if your not sure on the CH how do you know its going to fit with the alloted deck w/o being so small to push the wrist pin into the oil ring?

going by the numbers you are giving out your CR comes to 11.66 using stock deck height.

CAll eagle they have four rotating assy. nows and they are 347 374 383 and 393
Jegs sells all of them also
Their mag. is messed up on how they are listed but i have confirmed with eagle over the phone that those are the specs of the kit.

And how are you figureing my CR to be that high?

(Swept Volume + Clearance Volume) / Clearance Volume

(804.67 + 74.69)/74.69 = 11.77. i was off .11 my first calculation.
