Default Anyone Have an overlay of 112LSA VS 114 LSA?

Just wondering about hte difference in Peak HP RPM? I am going to do a 224 camshaft. Dont want to rev it to the moon. I would love to see a dyno overlay of the same camshaft on 112 vs 114.

TIA,
-Nick

Don't have an overlay, but the 112 "should" peak sooner than the 114, all else being equal.

Yeap by about 200>300 rpm. But the 112 will make ~10 rwhp more on average under the curve.

Cool, I knew the 112 would peak sooner, but I did not realize we were talking 2-300 RPM sooner. I dont want to rev my stock short block past 6500.

BTW, here is a graph of Thunders 224 on 112

It peaks around 6100, would probably want to shift around 63,6400. I guess the 112 is right for me, you would probably want to shift the 114LSA 224 around 66,6700. If anyone has a graph of a 224 on 114 in a 346 I would love to see it.

The peak is relative to the rest of your mods/heads/headers etc..

112 should start peak from 5800 >6000 and 114 from 5900>6100

My 224/220 116 peaks at 6100

Is that your dyno? How did you like Jeff Creech? I am thinking of having him tune my car after the cam.

My TR224 / 114 dyno is attached below on stock heads. Still peaked at 6000-6100. I think the 114 will peak slightly later, but have a more broad HP peak.

FWIW, my 223/227 112 cam peaks at ~6200 rpm.

Can anyone overlay the two graphs in this thread?

This is interesting, if I can get the 224/224 .580/.580 on 114 to peak at 6100 I will go that route.

It will with no advance in the grind.

The 112/114 peak is affected by other mods related to the flow in/out of your motor and by the advance in the grind. The LSA is not the only thing that determines the peak of a cam, just part of the whole equation.

Sux Marc but I have to agree with you on this post

The install affects the power band. If you install it dot to dot the 114 will peak later UNLESS the 114 is a 4 degree advance ground in and the 112 was zero. An adjustabe timing set would help you get the band where you want it but it sounds like you want a 112 lsa.
