Default LS1 Z28 Cam in a 4.8L Truck motor?

I'm posting this for a friend who has a '03 or '04 Silverado with the 4.8L V8. He's looking at cams and was interested in the stock cam I have out of my 2000 LS1 Z28, as it's just sitting in a box.

Would this swap result in any real gains over the stock cam from this motor? How different is the cam swap in the trucks compared to the f-body cars? Similar I have to assume, and probably easier since everything is more accessible.

Thanks.

Anyone? Is this a worthwhile swap? Will the cam even fit in the block without issues?

Anyone know what the specs are of the stock 4.8L truck cam?
