Default Cam Selection

I finally decide on the cam HPE will install, its a little conservative but I have to drive this car daily. We agreed on 224/224-112-.581/.581. The main reason behind this is trying match it to my current set up 2800 stall, 3.73 gears, headers, FIPK. Along with the cam thest parts will be installed an underdrive pulley 10%, ported throttle body, and the LS6 intake. Has anyone used a bigger cam with a similar setup and have you had good results.

You can prolly get away with something a little bigger, a lot of its gona depend on how good the tune is. A lot of people say they want to daily drive their car with no problem this and that, and think that a bigger cam is gona automaticly mean "issues" with driving the car a lot. Asside from maintenence of a bigger cam (valvespring longevity) a lot of people get scared off from them because they dont really know how much tunning plays a part in the characteristics of a cam. But asside from all that bull ****, Id try something like a 228/228 on a 114. Its a bigger cam and given the same lobe profiles should have close to the same amount of overlap of that 224/112 cam.

A 228 will not make that much more power than this 224/ .581

If you want to go bigger and remain good on street but gain another 10>15rwhp then go with at least a FM11, or TSP 231/231
Personaly I like this one:
230/230 duration, .592"/.592", 111lsa (straight up)
