Default How much power will setup make with cam???

Engine swap taking place this week. I have going in a 99 shortblock with 5.3 stage 2 T.E.A. heads, 226/226 voodoo cam, Bo White TB, 1 7/8" hooker LT's, LS6 intake, MAF ends slp oil pump, pushrods, new valves, lS2 timing set, and cheap mods like a lid, flomaster, and a Tune. How much power do u think i can get out of all that.

My guess is around 405 or so RWHP. Sounds like a really nice combo too!

Pulley doesn't always show up on the dyno, supposedly, but count on about 0.1 and 1 mph. In other words ~10 rwhp across the board.

You should be more concerned with track times (or performance, anyway) than peak dyno output anyway.

I set of drag radials would be nice. And what suspension components would give me a faster launch?

And yes the money holes never end. Just when i thought i was in the home stretch i have to pay 900 for an engine swap, and 1200 more for miscelaneous **** like rod bolts.

For a better launch id get some lower control arms and maybe some nice hal QA1 shocks and some lowering springs to start. You can also get a nice adjustable panhard rod, etc, you should got to www.umiperformace.com, they are a sponsor and have real good deals on some very high quality suspension parts. Id be careful with drag radials if your still on your stock 10-bolt rear end because with the kind of power you would be making with your H/C setup you could definately snap your facotry 10-bolt, and $2,000 for a moser or strange 12-bolt isnt cheap at all.

Just curious, why did you decide on such big primaries for the headers and such a small cam? How much power were you looking to make with that setup?

I was wondering the same thing. A 346 shouldn't need 1 7/8" primaries, esp as his stands right now.

I agree on ther 1 7/8 headers. Unless your running a real large cam you shouldnt need more than a 1 3/4 LT header primary. 1 7/8 primary headers are usually use for bigger cubed motors (at least a 383 or up). Those headers might actually produce lower results than with a 1 3/4 primary. In addition you could even go with a larger cam, say a 230+ intake durations and a 230+ exhaust duration.

Not to be a jerk, but you might gain 10rwhp with a cutout or flowmaster replacement .

isnt the suspension on the ss better than the z28 for launches? Also i was told that i shouldnt go any bigger with the cam size becasue it might screw it up.

I suggest staying away from the flowmaster.
