pics of ported heads to help me port mine
lets start with the exhuast ports...the 4 lil oval holes on the plug side of the head... the pushrods are pokin down thru them.. im guess i want to remove this as well as the springs ect correct?... now how much do i take out? what do i shape it like? more circlular towards the exit? and then polish it up?
instructions on opening this section of the head up a lil bit wanted.. pics of finished work so i can compare also wanted

I looked into porting them myself as well.... after you incorporate the cost for a quality valve job and hoping that you didn't FUBAR the ports up with having no experience in ported LS1 heads..... the hours involved in porting them, imbalanced airflow from port to port...
It is better just buying a set of lower cost CnC'd and flowed heads IMO or send them to BoWhite and have him port them.
I bit the bullet and bought some AFR's.... after I bought a set of 5.3's to port and added up the parts total cost and labor the difference wasn't a huge amount.
There are many pics of ports and home porting threads on here. Takes a few minutes with search button but they are there.

thanks guys.. any tips or info or a write up would really help, my dad has done older heads.. as in mopar 70's **** from back in his day.. but no ls1, and nothing like this.. we'd like as much info as possible before we decide rather or not to do this
