Default Will later LS2 oil pan make adifference?

Hi,

I have a low mile 2000 LS1 vette engine that will be going into a hotrod project.

I will need to replace the wing type oil pan with a stock firebird pan to clear the chassis but I have been told that the C6 vette oil pan will also fit and it has better baffling and is very similar to the Firebird pan.

The part number is:

LS2 oil pan 12581810 complete kit?

I would appreciate some comments and verification that the above oil pan will fit.

Thanks

How much is the LS2 pan. Is the price of one new worth it over the F-car pan used.

Brand new from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ it is $199.61 (Plug in the part number 12581810)

Used F car pans appear to be going for around $150 on EBAY, hence the move towards buying new instead.

The C6 pan works great. I would highly recommend it in place of the wing C5 pan. Tons more room for header clearence in the C5.

I'm dropping an LS2 engine in a 00 T/A and was wondering the same thing, will this pan (12581810) fit the k-member?

Thanks,
Jim
