Default Wats broke?

Ok guys so here's the thing. Launch the car, hit 2nd, hit third, go to hit 4th and hit 2nd . Hits the rev limiter for no more than a second and i knock it back outta gear. Ok so today pull the valve covers off (freakin right side SUX!) find 5 bent pushrods on the left side and 2 on the right. Throw it all back together and the car has a hard time starting unless foot is in it. Then the engine has a slight shake to it still and if you listen hard u can hear a slight noise (I have no idea how to describe it) Wat else do you think would be wrong? Bent valves? Bad lifter? Nothin bottom end wise right? Someone HELP!

So wat ur is this is gonna end with pulling the heads huh? Damn that means A LOT more expensive than the damn pushrods were Is there a way to check for bent valves wiithout pulling the heads?

Now sounds like a good time get some aftermarket heads. If you're gonna go through all that trouble of pulling the heads and probably changing some valves, you may was well get some new heads. Texas-speed has a nice price on their PRC 5.3 stage 2.5 heads. Fully assembled too.

Well I'm guessing you have a LT1 judging by your board name... So, disreguard the post above mine if thats the case. If not, then yeah get some new heads..

More than likely, you have some bent valves. You can do a compression check on each cylinder that had a bent pushrod and I'm bettin you will find some bent valves. Get a guage from someone and do a compression check before you pull anything apart. Then go from there..

I actually had to roll mine across the kitchen table to determine if they were bent or not. Holy **** Batman. You're lucky the one on the far left didn't break completely.

Man, you're gonna HAVE to tear her down and figure out what kinda damage you're looking at.

Sorry to see that bud.

These are only 1400 and come with PRC dual springs and stainless valves completely assembled. I'm sure you can prob get something for your heads if you really wanted to sell them.

i had one snap but every thing was ok ,head had a gash out of the pushrod hole but nothing a die grinder could't fix ,put in a new push rod and lifter and she is sweet(so far) the lifter did spin slightly and i did change the plastic lifter guide tray . That was about 5-7000km ago ,two days ago i changed my valve springs to 915's and put in manly pushrods i was shocked to see how much tension the stock springs lost they looked like midgets to the 915's but i must admit when i snaped the push rod i put some 1.8 yella terra rockers on so it more strain on the springs there.I would recommend people to upgrade there valvesprings as soon as you drive out the car yard.As for you problem i would say check your lifter's as they may have spun and cracked the guide tray and do it asap.

Ok so updated

pulled the motor out yesterday and tore it most of the way apart. Bent EVERY exhaust valve (wacked the piston) and a couple of the intake valves. So teh piston all have their own valve reliefs now . One a side note wat does everyone think of still using these pistons? I have like NO money so tryin to get outta this the cheapest way possible. My engine guy says it'd be no problem reusing the piston, but I'm just checking

Should be ok to use the pistons as long as you can't see the crank through em.

Default whats broke

Besides the valves and pushrods you may want to have the machinist check the guides or you will leak oil there. You probably ruined them if your valves are bent alot.
