Just wondering if the 4.8L heads would work on the 6.0L. The left head on my 6.0 is cracked and have a set of 4.8l heads. Would there be any valve clearence problems? Completly stock motor. Any and all info will be helpfull
Thanks
vic

No. Too small, you can get those ported with bigger valves and some chamber work, that will work, but otherwise no.

Is there any other heads that would work or should i just go back with the 317 heads. Also if anyone reads this that has some heads for sale please post.
Thanks

In stock versions? 317's are it.
Other versions need to be matched for bore, ported for flow, bigger valves etc.... 317's are LS6 style and are the best suited in unported form.

Kinda stupid but here it goes. When I bought the 6.0 it looked like the exhuast manifold was just ripped off the head. All the studs are broken and thats where the crack starts from. It's the second exhuast port that is cracked. Its got a hair line crack that maybe goes 1/2 inch into the head itself and about an inch long. My question is do you think this can be repaired or should i just quit being cheap and get another head.

looks to me that it was severly dropped. if you arent planning to rebuild it, do an EXTENSIVE search on the block for cracks. if the oil pan is damaged, that may give you an idea of where to look.
good luck.
