lightest internals for a FI motor
what are the lightest (yet strong enough) internals available for the iron 408... looking at rods, pistons, and crank.
Thanks,
Tyler

I'm pretty sure it's mostly custom. You could contact KATECH and ask. AFAIK the c5-r is the only lsx type engine using titanium internals except the new ls-7, which I believe uses titanium rods and valves. Be prepared to spend BIG, BIG, BIG money. Here's their website

No offense, but buy the basic high quility steel stuff that you can get across the counter.
There are lot of good vendor engines builders here.
You simply can't afford the best. I will not even buy the best for a non commercially sponsered street car. The best materials are used in F1, IRL, Champ...
EG's. Titaninium rods, springs, valves. Carbon fiber block, carbon-carbon pistons, electrical operated 18,000-28,000 valve train, etc. Special coatings for everything. Try 90k for motor (maxmium and only a lease, you have to give back and cannot open it (IRL)), F1 is much more $$$$$. Try $100-400M a year to run a competative factory team.
Yes, the iron block is ironic joke. No offense, but your foundation is not even there.

Carillio's... Callies crank good set of JE or CP slugs you wont find a ultra light weight piston that can take lots of boost if this was a NA motor then things would be different. Its gunna be funny when people start breaking the LS7 TI rods, Ti rods act like a serious jack hammer inside a motor... but thats just what I've seen a few times..
