Thumbs down IF you bought PRC heads or are considering it.. CHECK THIS OUT!

I have a set of new PRC 2.5 5.3 heads. These have the 2.04 intake/1.575 exhaust valves and are unmilled. I was kinda worried about the flow numbers cause there has been a little controversy with these heads and who does the actual porting on them. So, I figured "what the hell" I might as well have them flowed to see EXACTLY what I'm working with here before I put them on the car and end up dissapointed.

I took the heads to a VERY qualified person that has tested quite a few of these type heads. The numbers that came out were freakin pathetic in my opinion. The Intake #'s were sorta decent, but still not even close to what I wanted. BUT, the Exhaust #'s were total ******* junk. I bout fell out of my chair when I heard these numbers.. Here is the run down on the flow #'s.

Testing was done on a 3.900 Bore Fixture and using a curved pipe on the exhaust..

INTAKE #'s --- 231cc
-----------
.200 129
.300 188
.400 235
.500 267
.550 279
.600 288

EXHAUST #'s --- 86cc
-------------
.200 110
.300 142
.400 167
.500 184
.600 189

What do you guys think about that? I personally think it is total crap and I am VERY dissapointed. The bench that was used for the test has had a few sets of AFR's on it and they have all put down #'s that were within a few cfm of advertised numbers.. So, the bench is on the money. These heads will not be going on my car that is for sure and I take back everything I ever said about these heads being good for the money, etc etc. The intake runners closely resemble the PP heads. And if I wanted a set of Patriots I would have bought them..

Let the drama begin!

Yeah thats exactly what I said... We thought there had to be a problem especially with the low exhaust numbers. So, the heads were re-tested on a different intake & exhaust port and the numbers were basically identical between the two.. Maybe a difference of 1-2 cfm here or there. And the numbers that I just posted were the higher numbers of the 2 tests that were done. A set of AFR's were put on this same bench today as well and they performed withiin 3-4 cfm of the advertised #'s listed on AFR's website..

The bullshit that goes down on this site is freakin unbelieveable in itself. I'm not gonna bash anyone but people need to know what they are buying. And I feel like this is very crucial information for alot of people on this site.

I actually didn't pay cash for them.. I worked out a deal with Gomer on these heads, but that deal is gonna be worked out again after this bullshit was discovered.

If I had payed cash for them they would have been $1529.00! They are on sale or having a GP on them right now for like $1400 or something like that I believe..

I had my SDPC 69cc (yes 69cc ls6 heads)LS6 CNC ported heads up forsale a long time ago and i was asking $2000 and know one would buy them because of PP.

Now everyone with PP heads cannot understand why there cars wont put down the power.

You get what u payfor.

I definately agree with that.. But, I'm not made out of money and I was tryin to get a good set of budget heads. And from what I had seen and heard these heads were the ones to buy. Obviously, alot of people are mistaken. They might still make decent power, but the exhaust would need some work before that would ever happen.
