The 382 I did for 01hawk that used the stock valved PRC's have 918's on them and it is running a 230/232 .591/.595 X-er cam. I have several guys around here running .591 and .595 X-er lobes on 918's. I wouldn't worry about it for one second... but as cheap as you can buy good duals now, I'd spend the extra $100 if it were my car.

I ran a Comp cam with .589 lift with comp 918's for over 55K miles. Even after I re-dyno'd the engine before I put my new forged motor in it, it did not show any sign of valve float.

Hell the 918's originally were rated for .610" but when comp came out with the 987's they down rated them probably to open up more of a market for their new springs and to save from breaking the 918's.
The 918's are a hell of a single spring and if it were me i wouldn't think twice about running them.
