Very similar lobes used in these cams. Thunder has a few versions, so it depends on which one you get. Power diffrences will probably be negligable.

I was also curious about this. Are these two cams different @ .004 and .006? I've always read that due to the FMS/Cammotion lobe design, that it reaches max lift quicker resulting in more under the curve torque. Is this right?

I can only think that with such a high lift on the Futral that it probably would make more power.

Peace,
Josh

Don't forget that thunder has 3 -224 cams. They have a .553, a .563, and a .581. Lobe speed is diffrent on all of them. The Futral 224 has a fast ramp rate, but is slightly less than the .581 version TR uses. The diffrence is really around .200". The Futral cam reverse splits a degree or 2, wearas the TR cam stays traditional foward all the way through. I'm not sure of the .400", but the .600 is the same on both cams from what I remeber. The TR .581 my have 1 degree less at .600. Would I ever swap one 224 cam for another, no. If you don't plan on going bigger, I wouldn't mess with it. As I said pefore, power between them would be negligable.

It might make a little more, but it wouldn't be worth a cam swap IMO.

I have the TR224 .564 on a 114. I like it. I wanted a can that's better than stock, but not lobie. I could have went bigger, But I want the car to last 20 years. I just bought AFR heads at 61cc, and wonder how the SOTP will be when I add that.
Im sure it will be fun to drive.......well, even more fun to drive
