Default LS1 vs. LS2

If there's a thread I should read, sorry for posting, but I had some guys giving me a hard time about my car (said they'd trade me for various vehicles, and when I declined all trades), they told me a GTO w/LS2 would beat my LS1 anyday. Said LS2 is better than LS1. IMO, I don't think the GTO could take my car, but I didn't have any of the specs to argue with or the knowledge. So, is it? How does the LS1 compare to LS2?

LS2 is stronger than a LS1... stock for stock.. But, your car having those mods you should be able to take a stock LS2..

ls2's dyno ~345rwhp, the gto is a fatass pushing damn near 4k's. stock for stock IMO its a drivers race. with your mods the GTO doesnt stand a chance.

Yeah the LS2 is a stronger motor, but in a GTO its got a disadvantage cause of the weight like JRP said. But, LS2 in a Vette is a different story..
