Default changing pushrods..1st time

Hello all...
getting ready to change/check my stock pushrods (tick, tick, tick) and need to know if I absolutely have to buy a torque wrench to torque the rockers exact or not. What else has everyone used to do this? If I have to buy a torque wrench got any cheap recommendations, I'm not trying to spend a fortune.

Thanks in advance!

Actualy YES you absolutely need a TRQ wrench. I you do not want to buy one, rent one, but rent the best you an find.(accuracy is imperative)

tork wenches are precision tools. I've never seen one in a rental shop but I could be wrong.

I used thread locker for these bolts.... I did use a tork wrench but I would not loose sleep if I had not.

You can buy a cheapie at Harbor freight.com for $25 or so....

You can also get one loaned to you from a local auto store IE autozone or NAPA. Make sure you have the socket all the way down on the heads of those bolts....easy to round off if you arent careful.

Hey man, I'm in the same boat, bent one last week bouncing the rev limiter. Just make sure you tq all the bolts to 22ft lbs. Activate the starter for a split second and re-torque to 22ft lbs. Good luck.

Of the few things I'd say a torque wrench is optional for ... rocker arm's are DEFINITELY NOT ON THE LIST.
Don't want them too loose, and with an aluminum engine, you don't want them too tight either.

My tick tick tick sounded harmless, wasn't...hope that's all it is. Use FAQ for all torquing specs and go by them.
