Default Rumor Mill - 465ci LS1.. Anyone know of it?

Got an e-mail from one of my out of town spies. There was a killer '96 Camaro with an all custom induction LS-1 testing at Maple Grove. Engine displaces 465". From what I understand, this guy has long paper and has been working on the development of this combo for a minute. C-5R block, custom lightweight crank, titanium rods, custom Mahle 15:1 pistons, dry sump, and all the bottom end goodies. Here's the thinker: the heads are supposedly one-off canted valve style heads similar to those used by Bennett Racing along with a FRPP style hi-rise cast intake manifold and a dominator! Front drive distributor, along with all the complimenting ignition. Car is running on two kits right now, don't know how much though. What we do know is @ 2,900 lbs. and with a 'glide on stock suspension it's knockin' down 8.0's!!! Seems he may be competing for that fastest LS-1 title to me! The Black Procharged 'Bird currently holdin' the record may be in trouble. Don't know when or if this will hit the magazines but, you heard it on the gossip from me first!!! Peace!!!

^-- This is a copy/paste from what I saw on another board!!

I have heard of this setup before.. Not the lsx canted valve heads, but the shortblock. I was reading about the 465in setup the other day on a web site. I believe it was a sponsors site. But, I could be wrong..

Those canted valve heads are sweet.. Bennett is REALLY proud of them as well. But, I think that a ported set of the LS7 heads would work pretty damn good too!

The setup sounds cool-I have been hearing rumors of a new ls1 11 degree canted valve head in the works-this may be it. However, as Ron stated, it's going to take alot more than a 7.9x pass to overtake Kurt and company @ W2W-the car went 4.60's@161mph in the 1/8mi-should be a low 7/high 6 second ride.

The boys from Australia have reclaimed the title as the fastest lsx powered vehicle-W2W power on both of these cars if I am not mistaken-Nice job guys!

I remember(or think I remember) that the maximum on a C5R block is 471ci.
