Default when u go above 7000 rpm !! check the PIX

G5X3 + patriot stage 2 ..... and when reached 7,400 rpm KABOOOM .. and here is the pix ...

we r lucky here in saudi arabia we have the ls1 every where so we took a short block from the junk yard for $ 420 .. lol

this is happened a week ago and we r driving the car now with new shortblock and stock heads ,,

patriot heads had some scratches near the valves ,, i think we still can use them ill take my time polishing them .. if not ill send them to the nearest pepsi factory so they can recycle them to a cans

please guys tell me if u need more pix for the heads or for the broken block .. just tell me what angel u want me to take the pic from ..

P.S the late engine was on a 2001 z28 ,

Must be nice to get a good shortblock for 400.00. That sucks about the blow up. Must have broke a rod bolt.

engine is giving steady power until the 7500 rpm with G5X3 ,

we were racing a modded ZR1 LT5 ... and we wanted to give the max , we wanted to teach him a lesson lool , we wanted to have the longest distance we can ,

it was a non nitrous race thats why we hit it to the limit ,

They must be a high roller. I can't afford to blow engine up.

I would not use that cam again. Tolerances have to be much tighter than a head for instance, which means you wont be able to polish it accurately.

Is that piston ring hanging out from the valve? I would say that the heads are still good with alot of work. Me personally I would trash them.
