How to support engine from the top?

Default How to support engine from the top?

I need to know a good way to support the engine from the top. Anyone?

You mean lift it from the top? I used the (I think m8x1.5) bolt holes located on the fron and back of the heads.

I want to lift it, and support it from the top instead of the bottom.

Me too. Lifted the engine tranny combo by that method probably 20 times with no issues

How long and for what reason are you trying to support it from the top?

I used an engine brace that looks like this....



Then I had 2 chains, one going from the passenger side head to the brace, and another going from the driver side head to the brace.

I did the same thing too when I changed the K Member. Except I used a wood 4x4 instead of the fancy correct tool. Worked fine.

lol, no fancy tools for steve, the method sounds pretty good though...
