Default oil level sensor resistance

does anyone know the resistance of the oil level sensor on a vette. I'm having major problems with this sensor, and if I could get the right resistor in the connector to solve the problem right now that would be great.

If it is a sensor that says you either have enough oil or NOT then it is a digital output which means it's DC out. If it tells you your 1 qt low then 2 qts low and finally EMPTY it's analog which means it outputs AC voltage. I'm guessing it's the former in which case it is either OPEN (infinite resistance) or CLOSED ( 0 ohms resistance). These are approx., but the two values you should read will WAY apart from each other with one being close to zero and the other in K ohms or even Meg ohms.
