Default LS6 short block with LS1 heads?

I currently have a set of stage 2 heads off of a 98 LS1. I am thinking about buying an LS6 short block. Will these heads work on this block? I did a search, but couldn't find anything.
thanks,
Ray

yes........any LS1, LS2, LS6, and truck head will bolt on any LS1, LS2, LS6, and truck block......

if you ever want ported heads though, get rid of the 97/98 style perimeter bolt (valve cover) heads as they will not clear aftermarket rockers not to mention are harder to deal with.....

Thanks! I thought that was the case, but I wanted to be sure before I was stuck.

BTW, the heads I have are already ported. (see above post)

Unless the LS6 short block has the cam included, there is no difference between it and a 02-04 LS1 short block. Difference between it and earlier LS1 blocks is internal venting, so don't pay any extra for a no-cam LS6 block.
