Gold .650s vs Comp 918s....
How do these compare? One is a straight spring, the other is conical...which is better?
I'm not worried about breaking a single spring, what I want to know is which one is more stable at higher rpms?
Weight is an issue, and I cant imagine the Golds with a Ti retaier are lighter than the 918s with a stock retainer.
Input??

Depends on the cam.
Smaller cam, go with the 918's.
When it comes to weight....they Patriot's are MAYBE a pound heavier total kit.
I have both a set of 918's and a set of the PP duals in Ziplock bags. Very close in weight.

Yes, valvetrain mass is impostant down to the gram. I like the fact that the Golds are duals...but I'm not betting the Comps would break with my cam (.588").

Brian,
Can the #26120 Single Beehive spring (155lb.@ 1.88" and 377lb.@ 1.28" be adapted to work w/ lobes beyond the 918's limits by machining spring pockets, ect.?
