I have that cam with a 112 as well, my car is a 6 speed. Just from seeing how it behaves untuned (at least untuned for that cam, it's running on a tune that was done after LS6 intake, Headers and ported TB), I'd say you shouldn't have any problems. She might buck on you until she's warmed up...but other than that...very streetable.
I have a small video, but the sound is sorta muffled and it doesn't give a very good impression of what the car really sounds like....but here you go:

try looking here for a video/audio clip:
http://ls1sounds.com/camshafts.htm
If you don't find it on the cam page, it might be on one of the Exhaust/Header pages...

great cam. Idles rock steady at 850 with a bit of thump to it even through the cats and muffler. Hasnt come close to dying on me once and no surging or any other issues, pulls hard to 6500rpm.

I assume you have an aftermarket torque converter. An 850 idle on a stock converter is kinda high.

I would do a stall before I bought a cam. It provides a huge performance gain. It also gives you more flexibility in cam choice. Yes, you can run a big cam on a stock converter, but the car will be very sluggish off the line. Even a small converter like 3000 - 3300 will go along way towards keeping the 224 cam in its power band.
If you don't buy a converter, a smaller cam may be a better choice as you'll need to gain a lot more torque below 3000 rpm. Depends a bit on your goals and whether you race from a stop or from a roll.

I have the TR224 with A sy3500 and 3.23 gears. I cam is great!! Takes a little getting use to but in a week or so it won't be an issue. I say get the stall 1st and then the cam. Holla at the fellas at TR and they will hook you up. Good people over there. They took care of me. Oh yeah I have the 112 LSA.

I know this thread is a couple of weeks old, but I am thinking about the same cam for my car. Rather than start a new thread, I figured I would post here.
I have a 99 Z28 A4, with a TCI SF (3000 stall), SLP Dual/Dual w/ Spintech muffler, SLP Lid, FRA, and soon to be Pacesetter LT's and ORY. Would this be a good choice for my setup or are there better bang for the buck cams? I want to make some power, but I'm still on the stock heads (I will be installing Comp 918 springs and more than likely new pushrods). I've heard things about the "F13" cam as well, and if anyone wants to chime in on that I'll listen.
Another question I had was the LSA, say I do go with the TR224/224, what real world differences will be noticed between the 114 and 112.
Thanks, and sorry for the seemingly newbish questions.

Danny, if you want to hear this cam in person I can meet you up sometime, maybe on a Thursday night at the cruise spots. My cam is on a 112lsa also. Let me know if you want to hear it. Only thing is, we have catbacks that are on opposite sides of the spectrum. I have an SLP dual/dual.
