I always hear about the F13 but....
I'm not about to be another one of those guys to ask what cam I should get, I can see how irritating it gets to everyone after a while because it's like repeating the same thing over and over. All I want to know is that people who are looking for a good DD cam are always recommended to look at the TR224 or the F13, but some people say the F13 is a little bit more extreme than the TR224, why doesn't anyone really mention the F12, or F11, and i barely even hear about the F10?? From what I know the F12 and F11 are still higher duration cams than the TR224. Anyone?

F11 is a really nice cam. Numbers in sig don't lie. I currently daily drive my ride about 150 mi a day and i have no issues whatsoever with the cam in my m6 Z. I love driving the car. I think most people just jump to the f13 because theoretically it should produce a bit more horse with minimal difference in idle quality etc. When i decided on the f11 it was over a year ago and not too many people were running the monster cams that they are now. Either the F11 or F13 are good choices.

It's true, and I think my case is another example. I have the F13 114 LSA +4 and it is the first cam I bought. I did TONS of research here on this forum and elsewhere and after much thinking I made the decision. I think I will keep this cam for a long long time. I'm really happy with it.
Although this cam fits with TEA 5.3 heads stage 1.5 the guy who installed it for me was not happy with the P/V clearance. So he took the heads off and took them to a machine shop to do some work on the valves.
He did get the necessary clearance and now it is safe to rev up the car to 6800 rpm.
The F13 really shines after 2,500 rpm but that doesn't mean it's a bad cam for daily driving. Quiete the contrary, it is very drivable and I am amazed with the almost zero low end torque loss - sure, my 4:11s and the 5.3 heads help, but overall the F13 is a very good compromise between power and drivability.

with a stall such as yours 1LoudTA, you shouldn't have to worry about a big cam. plus you have 373s, hell a ms3 would be fine in there...
I liked my F14, even on 3.42s in a M6...

the other day i tuned a 236/.588 112 cam in A4 with stock stall and 3.23s and the car runs great! not only it idles steady, but also there is no surge, no 'cruise control', no bucking. yes, it idles at 950 in Park and 850 in Gear, but it holds nicely. once you start cruising above 1400rpm, you can hear the headers, but you won't be able to tell how big this cam is. The trick to it was to get RAF and IAC tables right.

That's about as far as i can get. Hopefully someone else can chime in to explain that better or try searching for the answer.

A guy here has a yank 3000, lid, LS6 intake and a comp cams 208/212 cam with like .530 lift and runs 12.0's @ 111 cutting 1.6x 60 foots on Hoosiers. You dont need a big cam to go fast. Sometimes, like in my case, more power equals slower times because of traction.

f14 on a 114 lsa is very very streetable even untuned with a 3.23 gear i was able to drive it! ofcourse it does better with the mial order and 4.10's...
