Default Cam timing advance

Is is recommended to add timing advance in the cam if I am putting a new one in? Say 2 to 3 degrees?

Really depends on your overall goals of the powerband and how the cam was ground from the factory. Most LS1 grinds seem to already have +2 or +4 degrees advance ground in negating the need to further advance the cam. What cam are you planning on using?
