Highest RPM on stock 02 Short?
With a cam that peaks at 6600 to 6800 rpm I'll be spinning mine pretty high. It is an 02' and I've seen good and bad about swapping rod bolts. How much can the stock updated GM bolts handle. Car will see this rpm maybe 2-3 times a month as it is a weekend only car. Safe bet to run the stockers, or swap in some Katechs and take a chance on the bearings? Also, how much stronger are the LS6 bottoms? They spin higher from the factory and I have access to one. Just don't wanna swap motors unless it will be of worthwhile beneifit. Thanks.

I think 6800 is about as far as I would push it and still feel pretty comfortable. I've heard of many people spinning them to over 7k but that's really asking for trouble IMO. I think most go boom around 7200+. If I knew I'd be leaning on it hard like you plan to, I'd throw some good bolts in it for cheap insurance.
BTW, the LS6 bottom isn't really any stronger, but it does have better breathing/venting for high rpm use.
