What Cam For My Setup???
Ok before anyone asks or tells me....yes I've done plenty of searching. This is just only for your guy's input. I want the most aggressive cam I can get but while staying emissions legal. Sounding wise I would like to have the most lope at idle as possible even though the car is going to have to become a daily driver soon. I plan on getting a tune after it's installed. So mainly my concern is what's the largest cam I can put in while staying legal? Thanks!!!

If you have to stay smog legal here in CA a 224/224 114LSA is about the limit. A 112LSA will make it lopier and move the powerband up a little.... but may not pass smog in CA. Some have gone with more duration and squeaked by.... but the above cam will pass without any worries in a good state of tune.

If you searched you should have seen time and time again that a 224 on a 114 is about the limit. Could probably give the CheaTR cam a shot too. You have cats behind those shorties, I presume? Do the shorties have a CARB number?
I am seriously considering finding the time to make my own FAQ. The repetitive questions on such things as bad O2's, what oil/filter to use and why, what you can do and pass emissions in different places, what mods to get first, what kind of gas mileage to expect with XXX mods, etc etc etc.
But then I think about how many people ask stupid questions that are obviously covered in the stickies we already have or could be answered in 1-2 minutes with search. At least then I could simply paste a link to the FAQ instead of retyping the same bullshit over and over....or not answering their question.

Key thing here is you want your advertised overlap (overlap at .006 lift) to be 46 degrees or less. That seems to be the magic cutoff number. Anything with more overlap gets pretty dirty and is difficult to pass smog. If you want lope, it's pretty easy to accomplish, even with a mild cam. Just turn down the idle speed until you get the sound that you want. Just remember to turn it back up when it's time to do emissions testing.
Personally, I like Thunder Racing's CheaTR cam for what you're looking for. It can be quite lopey with a low idle speed (700 rpm) and very stealthy with a higher idle speed (850 rpm). Cam specs out at 215/230 .600/.578 117LSA. Lots of power at all rpm. Emissions legal.
